Moose Ridge Alpacas is a small family owned and operated
alpaca farm. We selectively breed our alpacas to obtain the best bloodlines and characteristics possible for a great
alpaca. Being a small farm, we are able to give our alpacas individualized attention and care. We take time with
them to socialize them, halter train them, and make them comfortable around people. All of our alpacas are ARI registered,
and BVD negative. We are proud to say that they are all up to date on their vaccinations and monthly wormings.
Our alpacas are happy and healthy!
"Life is not complete without alpacas!"

Moose Ridge Alpacas is a small farm, we plan on staying small so
we are able to give each of our animals individual attention.
We've learned a lot about alpacas in
the last few years, and still have a lot to learn! Alpacas are like fish in an aquarium...they are soothing and
calming to watch. It's great to just sit in the pasture and be near them and watch them. Several
of our animals will grab your shirt to see what it is, we have some that give kisses, some that just like to sniff your hand
or your hair. They are all so different!
Here's my little insight....I've had a lot of great experiences
dealing with "alpaca people", In general they are great people! I have come across several newer breeders
that are upset that they aren't getting rich with alpacas. Alpacas have the potential to make you nice money. For
most of us though, they will not make you rich! It depends how big into alpacas you want to get--do you want
to be a small time breeder selling pets or fiber boys, or do you want to get into it big time and breed for show winning
animals? Or something in between? You're going to get out of it what you put into it. If you spend
the big bucks and aquire nice quality alpacas, you'll be able to sell those alpaca's offspring for more money. If you
put the money into showing them, and they win ribbons, they will make you more money. There is a very nice tax advantage
to owning them as well. Alpacas, like most livestock,
are a lot of work. They need food, water, care, clean pastures, etc. It's not personally work for me, because
I love doing it so much! I don't mind being the "bean technician"...scooping poop....because I'm
just happy to be out there in the pastures with these glorious animals! So, if you have questions, feel
free to ask, we'll do our best to tell you what we know!
