We are a small family owned and operated
farm located in South Central Pennsylvania. We are located 20 minutes South of Harrisburg, between Harrisburg and Gettysburg.
We got into the alpaca business after our son fell in love with a suri alpaca in a local petting zoo. We went back to see
that alpaca several times a year for 2 years! Initially we didn't know what kind of animal it was. We asked the workers
at the petting zoo and they told us that cute hairy "Cousin It" looking animal was an alpaca. We came home
and we researched alpacas for 2 years to see if they were the right animals for us. Well, needless to say we decided
to take the plunge! We are so glad that we did! We can't imagine life without our alpacas! They give us much joy! Now we are
in love too!
I (Angie) am a stay at home mom of two- Clay 10, and Delaney (Laney) 8. The kids are older now,
both in school all day, which gives me a lot of free time. I spend a lot of time with the alpacas. They each get
individualized love and care. I enjoy working out in the barns or pastures, even if it is to scoop beans! I
just love being around the animals! I sometimes just sit in the pastures with them, and if I'm not outside, I can see
the alpacas from several rooms in my house! I'm constantly looking out the windows to see them! My husband Mike
is in the USAF, and also works for the Army. Mike works hard around the farm for me, he is responsible for all the fencing
and buildings! His "honey do" list is never done! Don't let him fool you though, I know he enjoys the alpacas
too! He really helps me look for the deals too when it comes to buying! The kids like to help too, this is a family
effort!
If you ever visit, you may see my mother-in-law here as well...I call her my farm side kick!
When Mike isn't available, she helps me with all the "two handed" jobs such as vaccines and so forth when I need
that extra set of hands! She also keeps me company and goes along with me to other farms to pick up or deliver animals!
She won't fool you, she LOVES it! I have her so hooked, she bought her own alpaca!
